Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Outback Offgrid!

We’ve answered some of the most common questions about ordering, shipping, freight quotes, returns and warranties.

Whether you’re shopping for portable solar, 12V accessories, camping gear or off-grid power equipment, we’re here to help.

Ordering & Payments

How do I place an order?

Browse our online store, add your chosen products to your cart and proceed to checkout.

Smaller items may be purchased through our standard checkout, while larger or heavier products may require a freight quote before payment.

What payment methods do you accept?

We offer secure online payments through PayPal and other eligible payment options displayed at checkout.

Available payment methods may vary depending on your order.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order.

We’ll do our best to assist before dispatch. However, some orders are forwarded directly to suppliers, so cancellation may not be possible once processing has begun.

If your order has already been dispatched, it may need to be handled as a return.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you deliver Australia-wide?

Yes! We deliver throughout Australia wherever suitable courier or freight services are available.

Regional and remote locations may require additional freight charges or special delivery arrangements.

We don’t currently offer international shipping unless arranged before purchase.

How much does shipping cost?

Smaller products may qualify for flat-rate shipping, with the applicable charge displayed at checkout.

Larger or heavier products may require a personalised freight quote based on their size, weight and delivery destination.

Why do some products require a freight quote?

Products such as large solar panels, battery systems and bulky 4WD accessories may require specialised freight.

Because delivery costs vary depending on your location and the product, we calculate these individually to provide accurate pricing.

How do I request a freight quote?

  1. Add the product to your cart.
  2. Select Request a Freight Quote where available.
  3. Enter your contact and delivery details.
  4. Submit your request.
  5. We’ll review the freight requirements and contact you with the cost and instructions for proceeding.

No payment is required when requesting a freight quote, and you’re under no obligation to accept it.

Your order won’t be dispatched until freight arrangements and payment have been confirmed.

Can I order small and bulky products together?

Yes. If your cart contains both small items and products requiring a freight quote, the entire order may be processed as a freight quote request.

We’ll advise you of the available delivery arrangements before requesting payment.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times vary depending on product availability, supplier processing, courier services and your location.

We aim to process orders as quickly as reasonably possible and will endeavour to keep you informed of significant delays.

Are products shipped directly from suppliers?

Yes. Some Outback Offgrid products are shipped directly from Australian suppliers and distributors.

Orders containing multiple products may arrive in separate deliveries, from different locations or with different tracking numbers.

Your purchase is still with Outback Offgrid, and we’re your point of contact if an issue arises.

Can I track my order?

Where tracking is available, details may be provided once your order has been dispatched.

Some specialised freight services may provide limited tracking information.

Do you deliver to PO Boxes or remote areas?

Some smaller products may be delivered to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers, depending on the courier.

Bulky freight generally requires a physical street address.

Remote-area deliveries may incur additional charges or require collection from a freight depot. We’ll discuss these arrangements with you where applicable.

What if my order arrives damaged or goes missing?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and details of the issue.

For damaged deliveries, please include photographs of the product and packaging where possible.

We’ll assist with investigating and resolving the issue in accordance with your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Returns & Refunds

Can I return a product if I change my mind?

We accept eligible change-of-mind returns.

Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order.

Products must generally be unused, in their original condition and packaging, and include all accessories and components.

Installed, used, customised, specially ordered or damaged products may not qualify for a change-of-mind return.

Who pays for return shipping?

For approved change-of-mind returns, customers are generally responsible for return shipping costs, and original delivery charges are generally non-refundable.

For faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-compliant products, reasonable return costs are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

What happens if I receive a faulty or incorrect product?

Contact Outback Offgrid with your order number, a description of the issue and photographs or video where appropriate.

Depending on the circumstances and your consumer rights, we may arrange a repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate remedy.

How long do refunds take?

Once an approved return has been received and assessed, we’ll notify you of the outcome.

Approved refunds are generally issued to the original payment method.

Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.

Where do I send returned products?

Please contact Outback Offgrid before returning any product.

Because some products are shipped directly from suppliers, return addresses may vary. We’ll provide the appropriate return instructions.

Product Warranties

Do your products come with a warranty?

Some products include manufacturer or supplier warranties, with coverage and warranty periods varying by brand and product.

All products are also covered by applicable consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law.

Manufacturer warranties operate in addition to your consumer rights and do not replace them.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Email reachoutbackoffgrid@outlook.com with:

  • Your name and order number
  • Product name
  • Description of the issue
  • When the problem first occurred
  • Photos or video where relevant
  • Any troubleshooting you’ve already attempted

We’ll review your enquiry and, where necessary, coordinate with the relevant supplier or manufacturer.

What happens after I submit a warranty claim?

Depending on the product and circumstances, the next steps may include troubleshooting, inspection, repair, replacement parts, a replacement product or a refund where applicable.

We’ll provide instructions before any product needs to be returned.

Does incorrect installation affect my warranty?

Incorrect installation, wiring, voltage, polarity or use outside a product’s specifications may affect manufacturer warranty coverage.

We recommend checking product compatibility and following the manufacturer’s installation instructions.

Electrical work must be performed by an appropriately qualified or licensed person where required by Australian law.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected by manufacturer warranty exclusions.

Who pays freight for warranty returns?

For problems covered by Australian Consumer Law, return or transportation costs are handled in accordance with your statutory rights.

For manufacturer warranty claims outside those rights, freight arrangements may depend on the manufacturer’s warranty conditions.

Please contact us before returning any product.

Products & Support

Can you help me choose the right solar or 12V equipment?

Absolutely!

If you’re unsure which solar panel, controller, inverter or accessory suits your setup, contact us with details of your equipment and power requirements.

We’ll do our best to help you identify suitable products.

For complex electrical systems, we recommend consulting an appropriately qualified professional.

Are all products compatible with my existing setup?

Not necessarily.

Compatibility depends on factors including system voltage, battery chemistry, current ratings, solar input limits, connectors and wiring requirements.

Always check product specifications before purchasing, and contact us if you need guidance.

Do you have a physical store?

Outback Offgrid is a Western Australian-owned online retailer.

We operate online and work with Australian suppliers and distributors to offer a growing range of off-grid power, solar, 12V and camping products.
