At Outback Offgrid, we want you to have confidence in the gear you purchase from us.
Products sold by Outback Offgrid may be covered by manufacturer or supplier warranties in addition to the rights and consumer guarantees available to you under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
This page explains how warranty enquiries are handled and what to do if you experience a problem with a product purchased from us.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy if a product fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee.
Any manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty is provided in addition to, and does not replace or limit, your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Manufacturer & Supplier Warranties
Warranty periods and conditions vary depending on the product, brand and manufacturer.
Some products may include a specific manufacturer’s warranty. Where applicable, warranty information may be included:
- On the product page
- With the product packaging
- In the manufacturer’s documentation
- On the manufacturer’s website
If you’re unsure about the warranty period for a particular product, please contact Outback Offgrid before or after purchasing and we’ll assist where possible.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe a product purchased from Outback Offgrid has developed a fault, please contact us at:
reachoutbackoffgrid@outlook.com
To help us process your enquiry, please provide:
- Your full name
- Order number
- Product name
- Description of the problem
- When the problem first occurred
- Photos or video showing the issue where relevant
- Any troubleshooting steps you’ve already attempted
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to assess the issue.
What Happens Next?
Once we receive your warranty enquiry, we’ll review the information and may work with the relevant manufacturer or supplier to determine the appropriate next steps.
Depending on the product and circumstances, this may involve:
- Troubleshooting
- Further testing or inspection
- Returning the product for assessment
- Repair
- Replacement
- Replacement parts
- Refund or another remedy where applicable
We will provide instructions before you return a product.
Please do not send warranty products back without contacting us first, as some supplier-direct products may need to be returned to a different location.
Supplier-Direct Products
Some products sold by Outback Offgrid are shipped directly to customers by our suppliers or distributors.
If a supplier-direct product develops a problem, please contact Outback Offgrid with your order details.
We may coordinate with the relevant supplier or manufacturer to assist with assessment and resolution of the claim.
The fact that a product was dispatched directly by a supplier does not remove any rights you may have against Outback Offgrid under Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty Exclusions
Manufacturer or supplier warranties may not cover damage resulting from circumstances such as:
- Incorrect installation
- Misuse or abuse
- Accidental or physical damage
- Unauthorised modification
- Incorrect wiring or connections
- Incorrect voltage or polarity
- Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
- Water or environmental exposure beyond the product’s stated rating
- Normal wear and tear
The exact exclusions depend on the applicable manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty terms.
These exclusions do not limit any rights or remedies you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
Solar, Battery & 12V Products
Correct installation is particularly important for solar, battery, inverter and 12V electrical equipment.
Before installation, customers should confirm that products are compatible with their system, including appropriate:
- System voltage
- Current requirements
- Cable sizing
- Fusing and circuit protection
- Battery chemistry
- Solar input ratings
- Connector types
- Equipment ratings
Where Australian law requires electrical work to be performed by an appropriately licensed or qualified person, those requirements must be followed.
Incorrect installation or use outside a product’s specifications may affect a manufacturer’s warranty, subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Freight & Warranty Returns
Please contact us before returning a product.
Where a product has a problem covered by Australian Consumer Law, responsibility for return or transportation costs will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
For manufacturer warranty claims that fall outside statutory consumer guarantees, freight arrangements may depend on the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
We will advise you of the applicable process before arranging a return.
Proof of Purchase
Your Outback Offgrid order confirmation, invoice or other acceptable proof of purchase may be required when making a warranty claim.
We recommend keeping your order confirmation for future reference.
Change of Mind
Warranty claims are different from change-of-mind returns.
If a product is working correctly but you no longer want it, please refer to our Refund & Returns Policy for information about change-of-mind returns.
